Frequently Asked Questions

No, there's no minimum order value in our online shop! We appreciate every order you place.

We offer payment via PayPal and credit card. Another payment method via online banking (SOFORT/KLARNA) is also available. For public institutions (e.g., schools, kindergartens, etc.), we also offer purchase on account. To do so, please contact us directly via email at kontakt@sonodrum.net .

To ensure we can process your request as quickly as possible, please send us an email to kontakt@sonodrum.net or fill out our contact form. We will do our best to process your request as quickly as possible. This usually occurs within 24-48 hours.

So that our customer support can help you as quickly as possible, we ask you to provide the following information:

Write with the email address you used to order
Tell us your full name
Tell us your order number (starts with #SDN-)
Describe your request in as much detail as possible

We place the highest priority on your security when making payments. Your information is transmitted in encrypted form, so third parties cannot read it. Your payments are processed by a specially certified partner.

Shipment

As soon as we receive your order and payment we will process your order.

Normally – if the goods are in stock – the order will be handed over to DHL on the next or the next working day.

Delivery to Germany will then take a maximum of 3-5 business days. International deliveries will take correspondingly longer. In some cases, we unfortunately have to ship directly from the production facility in Asia. This may result in longer delivery times. By completing a purchase, you agree that it may take up to 22 days for the goods to reach you.

Please note: Once we've handed your package over to our delivery partner, we can no longer influence the delivery. However, our logistics partner (usually DHL) will always do its best to ensure your package reaches you as quickly as possible.

Please note that no deliveries are made on Sundays and public holidays.

Yes, as soon as we ship your order, you will receive an email from us with a tracking number and a tracking link. Please note: If you have only provided your mobile phone number and no email address, we are unfortunately unable to send you a tracking number via SMS for technical reasons. You can only track your shipment by entering your order details/tracking number.

Track shipment

It's possible that the shipment status of a shipment may not be updated for a few days. If your shipment status hasn't changed for more than 14 days, please notify us by email at kontakt@sonodrum.net . We will then contact the shipping provider and initiate further steps to locate your shipment.

This is unfortunately very frustrating, and we sincerely apologize! In our experience, some mail carriers forget to leave a "collection note" with customers. In most cases, the package is at your local post office or has been left with a neighbor. It's best to simply ring your neighbor's doorbell or call your local post office. Alternatively, you can check the location of the package online using your tracking number.

We do not charge shipping costs to Germany and Austria. We ship to Switzerland free of charge for orders over EUR 300. For orders under EUR 300, shipping costs are EUR 15. Every shipment comes with a tracking number, allowing you to easily track your shipment online.

We currently deliver our Sonodrum to the following countries: Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

If you have a new address, please let us know as soon as possible so we can change the shipping address before shipping. If the item has already been shipped, unfortunately, the change is no longer possible.

This is obviously not a good thing, and we apologize profusely! Please let us know by email at kontakt@sonodrum.net , and we'll find a solution as soon as possible.

Return

If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal, please register your return via our returns portal. It's very easy, and we'll be happy to explain how it works:

You then have the option of purchasing a low-cost return label directly in the portal or arranging shipping yourself using your preferred shipping provider. We recommend submitting your return through our returns portal, as this simplifies and speeds up the process. This allows us to process your return as quickly as possible and handle the cancellation in accordance with our terms and conditions.

If your order is no longer eligible for return in the returns portal, this means that you are outside the 30-day return period and we can no longer offer you a return.

Please note that, according to our terms and conditions, returns can only be accepted within this period. Since the return period has now expired, we are unfortunately unable to accept any further returns.

Exchange

For an exchange, please use our returns portal to easily register the process. Simply follow the steps below:

If the exchange option isn't available in our returns portal, it means that the item you want is unfortunately not in sufficient stock to offer an exchange. In this case, you'll need to choose another option.

In our returns portal, you have the option of receiving a refund in the form of a voucher. You can select this option directly in the returns portal.

The voucher offers a great opportunity as we give you a 10% bonus on the refund amount.

After we have processed your return, we will send you the voucher via email.

We currently offer our Sonodrum tongue drum primarily in the C major key. In D major, we offer our "standard" Sonodrum, which also sounds great and comes in 30 cm diameter with 11 reeds.

Not at all! The Sonodrum tongue drum is exceptionally beginner-friendly and comes with a ton of songs you can learn quickly. It's perfect for all ages, from children to the elderly.

Yes. Playing melodies with our Sonodrum tongue drum has been shown to significantly reduce stress and offer an excellent way to distract your attention from everyday stress. You can meditate and clear your mind while listening to the ethereal, melodious sound of the Sonodrum, leaving all your worries and stress behind.

A major scale always consists of seven notes and a specific sequence of semitones (two adjacent notes) and whole steps (notes two semitones apart). Major scales have a friendly, cheerful, and illuminating sound.

The C major variation is based on the tonic note C, meaning the c-tongue is labeled 1. The songs in the music book are structured accordingly. The same applies to D major, except that the tonic note here is D. The D is a whole step above C.

The C major drum is perfect for beginners and children alike. With the songbook included in the set, playing the songs is child's play.

The D major drum is currently only available in the 30.5cm version (standard) and in this version it is perfect for purposes such as meditation, relaxation and switching off.

Our Sonodrum is usually heptatonic (or diatonic) and not pentatonic, as it consists of 8 (11, 14 or 15) tones and a C major or D major scale.

All heptatonic scales that consist of whole and half tones are called diatonic.

The explanation is quite simple: the larger the drum, the more voluminous, sonorous and better the sound of the drum.

In other words, if you're just starting out, the smallest version is perfect for you. If you're already experienced and value a high-quality sound for relaxation, we recommend the larger drum.

Each drum comes with two drumsticks, a beginner's book with various songs (in C major or D major), and a stylish premium carrying case. You can take the Sonodrum anywhere! Take it to yoga class, the office, or retreats.

Our Sonodrum tongue drum is tuned to a pitch/frequency of 440 Hz.

440 Hz is a standard tuning for musicians and therefore the best choice if you plan to play your sounds with other instruments. But this pitch/frequency is also excellent for meditation, yoga, or relaxation.

Our tongue drums are pre-tuned by hand in C major or D major (depending on the model). The pitch is 440 Hz and the scale is diatonic (heptatonic).

Kalimba

The kalimba is a handy, natural wooden block onto which the individual metal ore bars are delicately handcrafted to act as a piano. The arrangement of the individual bars creates a beautiful melody when played.

The sound vibrations are absorbed by the real wood block, and the opening on the back creates a deep acoustic that defines the overall tone. The flat surface on the top makes the mid and high frequencies sound clearer and purer.

Handpan

Working on a handpan requires heavy equipment, including—especially in the final stages of tuning—sometimes heavy hammer blows. Therefore, scratches, nitrite marks, or uneven color are a natural characteristic of a handpan and not a sign of inferior quality . Please bear this in mind before purchasing!

We currently only offer the Handpan / Sonopan in D minor tuning.
